A significant percentage of Catholic School enrollments are non-Catholic students. The Catholic Schools Office sought a way to boost awareness and understanding in the wider community and also affirmation within the church to the benefits of Catholic School education.
The Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle encompasses 56 different schools in the region, from kindergarten to year 12, with new schools opened recently and more being built. They needed to show the scope, including vocational training, community support, sport and STEM initiatives. But it was also important to show their unique point of difference – each student receives a quality education and has the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, physically and emotionally grounded in the Catholic faith.
VIVID EVERYDAY is the creative platform we devised. It’s not the usual soft, wussy school campaign, but a bold celebration. The line is central to the range of upbeat and optimistic collateral – television, radio, online and out of home including bus, billboards and banners. Real students and real teachers from across the diocese brought to life the relationships, the learning and the passion evident in all the schools. They were all champions, some of the best talent we’ve ever worked with.
We filmed and photographed them in a range of scenarios at various school locations. There was a lot to cover: from dance to woodwork, science to liturgy celebration, community charity to sport. The result is a positive and lively campaign that showcases the well-rounded nature of the Catholic School education where they don’t just teach religious studies, but develop spirit, mind, body and character.
